Mold size: 3.78” x 3.78”
Actual bee and dragonfly size: 3.00”x3.00”x0.25”
Believe it or not, these were the very first molds we ever made. And we are super proud of them, as they will make some fine pieces of jewelry. We have even made a video tutorial that you can find HERE . In that video, we used polyurethane resin, as it is a lot more fluid than epoxy resin, meaning that it will fill all crevices with easy. Some types of polyurethane resin can cure in just a few minutes, making it ideal for last minute gift creations, for example when you realize, just before leaving home to meet your BFF, that it’s actually her birthday. Whew!
The ‘Bee and Dragonfly’ mold pack has been designed with jewelry making in mind, in particular for use with urethane or epoxy resin. The delicate antennas and legs of the insects will stay strong when cast in resin. You can always use polymer clay or air-dry clay with these molds to create a reproduction of the insects’ body and wings, but we recommend the use of metal wire for the legs and antennas.
These molds come as a pack and are currently the lone members of the Insect World Collection, so we will make sure they will be joined very soon by some brothers and sisters. And cousins too.
